Meet the Principal: Jason Meade of Mill Creek MS

Our Principals can’t wait to welcome our students to learn more, grow more, and achieve more in our classrooms!  As we count down to the first day of school, we’re introducing you to our schools’ new principals.

Mill Creek Middle School’s new principal is ready to lead the Wildcats on to even greater future successes.

Principal Jason Meade brings experience as a classroom teacher, football coach, and school leader to his new role. A 24-year educator, Principal Meade most recently served as an assistant principal at Sequoyah High School.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I am most looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and families of Mill Creek and becoming part of the school community.  Every conversation I’ve had during this transition has reinforced how much people care about Mill Creek, the students, and one another.  I look forward to listening, learning, supporting strong instruction, and helping create a school environment where students and adults feel connected, supported, challenged, and proud to be part of Mill Creek.

What inspired you to become an educator?

I was inspired to become an educator because of the teachers and school leaders who made a difference in my own life.  They helped me understand the impact a school can have when students feel known, supported, challenged, and prepared for what comes next.  Over time, I realized that education is really about relationships and growth, helping students develop academically, socially, and personally while supporting the educators who make that work possible every day.

 How can parents be more involved with your school?

Parents can be involved in meaningful ways by maintaining strong communication and partnership with the school.  When families stay connected with teachers, attend school events, encourage student involvement, and reinforce the importance of attendance, effort, responsibility, and character, it makes a real difference for students.  I want Mill Creek to continue being a school where families feel welcomed, informed, and valued as partners in helping students grow and succeed.
